How EntireCommerce AI works with Claude
Updated 31 October 2026
Claude is Anthropic's AI assistant. With the EntireCommerce MCP, you can ask Claude about your store, and the answers come from your own dashboard. MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, the open standard Claude uses for connectors. The connection is read-only and comes with the EntireCommerce Plus, Pro and Managed plans.
What Claude can read through the MCP
The MCP gives Claude 14 read-only tools. Together they read the main parts of your workspace:
- Your business: name, domain, currency and markets, plus each connected source and when it was last read.
- Your Knowledge Base: the approved fields, such as positioning, customers and competitors.
- Dashboard tables: a date range you choose, the last 30 days by default, compared with the previous period or the same period last year.
- SEO and AI search: tracked keywords with Google position, movement and clicks; the questions put to AI assistants, with how often each named your brand and cited your site; your pages; and the sites AI answers cite.
- Findings and actions: open, resolved and dismissed findings, and actions by stage (suggested, approved, done and dismissed), each with its evidence.
- Reports: released daily, weekly and monthly reports, newest first.
- Customer voice: released customer quotes grouped by theme, with source and date.
- Content: the main topics you write about, with your articles and drafts.
- Outreach: targets by programme and stage, with the most recent contact. Contact details and drafted emails are left out.
- Strategy and trends: your roadmap by channel, completed work, and trend tables with key dates.
Each result Claude reads names the dashboard page it came from and the time it was read.
What your agents add
A connector for a single tool answers about that one tool. The EntireCommerce MCP reads the workspace your agents built:
- Every connected source, such as Shopify, Google Analytics and Search Console, in one place.
- The findings and actions your agents produced, with the evidence behind each one.
- The reports, content drafts and outreach targets they prepared.
So one question in Claude can draw on your sales, your search data and your agents' work together.
What you can ask
These three prompts are in your dashboard under Connect Your AI, ready to copy:
- Weekly review: “Read my latest weekly report and my dashboard numbers for the last 7 days compared with the 7 days before. Tell me what went up, what went down and why, in plain English. Then list the suggested actions, most important first, and tell me which one to do this week.” This needs Plus, one weekly report, and Shopify and Google connected.
- Declining search queries: “Which Google searches brought us fewer clicks in the last 30 days than in the 30 days before? For each one, show the clicks, the change, our average position and the page that ranks. Say which ones we're already working on.” This needs Plus and Search Console connected.
- Customer questions: “What are customers worried about or asking before they buy? Group it by theme and quote their exact words. Then show me the questions shoppers ask AI assistants in our category, and whether those answers mention us or link to our site.” This needs Plus, a customer voice collection and AI search checks.
A worked example
This example uses a sample store and sample figures.
The owner of Example Jewellery Store asks Claude which Google searches lost clicks this month. Claude reads your dashboard and replies with a short table. “Lightweight hoop earrings” fell from 180 clicks to 132, at an average position of 9, and the hoops collection ranks for it. Claude also shows the linked work: a suggested title and meta description for that page. The owner opens the dashboard and approves the change there.

Plans and limits
The MCP comes with the EntireCommerce Plus, Pro and Managed plans, including the 30-day Plus trial. There is no monthly limit on questions. Each connection can make up to 60 requests a minute and 5,000 a day. If your paid EntireCommerce plan ends or a payment fails, the connection stops working.
The free dashboard includes Ask, with 20 answers a month inside the dashboard. Connecting Claude comes with EntireCommerce Plus.
Permissions and your data
- The MCP only reads. It has no tools that change your store, your dashboard or any connected account.
- You review suggested changes in your dashboard. Depending on your plan and the change, you apply it yourself or approve it for publishing.
- Each connection is tied to one person's login and one workspace. Claude sees only that workspace.
- Access is checked again on every request. When someone leaves your workspace, their connection stops working.
- Customer quotes, Knowledge Base text and notes your team types reach Claude marked as quoted text. The MCP tells Claude that this text cannot change which tools it uses or which workspace it reads.
- To disconnect, open Connect Your AI and click Revoke next to the connection, then Confirm revoke. Owners and Admins can revoke any connection on the workspace.
The same MCP also works in ChatGPT.
