How EntireCommerce AI works with Google Ads
Updated 4 November 2026
Google Ads is where many ecommerce stores buy search and shopping traffic. EntireCommerce AI reads your Google Ads account beside your Shopify sales, your search data and your website analytics. Your agents can then judge paid and organic work together and point out where ad spend is not turning into sales. Google Ads comes with the Pro and Managed plans, and we connect it for you. Your agents only read it. You can also ask about your ad results inside Claude or ChatGPT through our MCP.
What your agents read from Google Ads
- Account totals: spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and conversion value, with click-through rate, average cost per click, cost per conversion and return on ad spend.
- Campaigns: each campaign's status, type and daily budget, with its spend, clicks, conversions and return on ad spend for the week.
- Lost search impression share: for each campaign, the share of possible impressions lost to budget and to ad rank.
- Two periods: each week is read beside the week before, so changes are easy to spot.
New days arrive daily.
What you see in your dashboard
- Analytics: Google Ads rows sit beside your website visits and Shopify sales for the same dates.
- Daily report: ad spend, impressions and clicks appear in the funnel snapshot at the top, next to sessions and sales.
- Weekly report: your agents compare the week's ad results with the week before, beside your sales and search results.
What your agents do with it
The Ads agent is one of nine agents in your dashboard. It starts working once Google Ads or Meta Ads is connected. Each week it looks for:
- Campaigns that spent money and recorded no conversions.
- Campaigns held back by budget, where a small budget change could buy more of the searches you already win.
- Campaigns losing impressions to ad rank, where bids, ads or landing pages may need a review.
- Large week-on-week moves in spend, clicks or return on ad spend.
Arro, your lead growth agent, reads these findings beside the work of the other agents, so ad spend is judged beside your organic sales and search results. Each suggestion appears in Actions with the figures behind it.
A worked example
This example uses a sample store and sample figures.
Example Jewellery Store spends $1,400 a week on Google Ads. The Ads agent sees that a shopping campaign for hoop earrings lost 38% of its possible impressions to budget while returning $4.10 for every dollar spent. A search campaign for gift sets spent $210 with no conversions. The suggested action is to consider moving budget from gift sets to hoops, and to look into why gift sets recorded no conversions. The store owner makes the change in Google Ads and can compare the next week's figures in the dashboard.
How to connect Google Ads
- Choose the Pro or Managed plan. Website signup for Pro is coming soon.
- Tell us your Google Ads customer ID, the ten-digit number at the top of your Google Ads account.
- We usually send a request to link your account to our Google Ads manager account. An admin on your account accepts it in Google Ads under Admin, then Access and security, then Managers. We can also connect through access you grant to our Google user account.
- Once we finish setup and the first data collection completes, your Google Ads figures appear in your dashboard.
Free includes your Shopify sales and public data. Plus adds Google Analytics, Search Console and Merchant Center. Google Ads is added when you move to Pro or Managed.
Google Ads data inside Claude or ChatGPT
The EntireCommerce MCP lets you ask about your dashboard inside Claude or ChatGPT. With Google Ads connected, you could ask: "How did Google Ads spend and conversions change this month compared with last month, and how did Shopify sales move over the same dates?" The answers come from your dashboard tables, and each one names the table it came from and the time it was read.
Permissions and your data
- Your agents only read Google Ads. They never change bids, budgets, ads, keywords or campaigns.
- You make any change to your ads yourself, in Google Ads.
- On Pro, the changes you approve are published to your Shopify store. Google Ads stays read-only.
- To disconnect, an admin on your account opens Admin, then Access and security, then Managers in Google Ads, selects Remove access, then Unlink. If we connected as a user, email us and we remove the access.
- The data already collected stays in your workspace until you ask us to delete it. A workspace nobody signs in to for 12 months is deleted.
