How EntireCommerce AI works with Google Search Console

Updated 31 October 2026

Search Console is Google's record of how your store appears in search: the searches that show your pages, how often people click, and where you rank. EntireCommerce AI agents read it to find search opportunities for your store and suggest changes to titles, meta descriptions and content. On Plus, Pro and Managed, you can also ask about this data inside Claude or ChatGPT through our MCP. This page explains what your agents read, what they do with it, and what stays in your control.

What your agents read from Search Console

  • Searches: the searches that showed your store, with clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position.
  • Pages: the same figures for each page on your site.
  • Searches by page: which searches lead to which page, so your agents can tell which page should win each search.
  • Sitemaps: the status of the sitemaps Google has for your site.

When you connect, the first sync loads 16 months of totals and the last 30 days of search and page detail. After that, new days arrive daily. Google takes about three days to finalise its figures, so your agents wait for each day to settle before reading it. A day Google has not reported yet stays blank until its figures arrive.

What you see in your dashboard

Search Console fills the SEO & AI Search section of your dashboard:

  • Top search queries and opportunities.
  • Your pages in Google search.
  • Searches for your brand name beside every other search.
  • Monthly search traffic.
  • Results for the articles and pages your agents produced.

Sitemap status appears with channel issues in the Site section of your dashboard.

What your agents do with it

Find pages close to page one

Your agents look for searches where a page sits between positions 4 and 20, with at least 50 impressions over 28 days. They set aside searches for your brand name, group the rest by page, and estimate the extra clicks each page could gain. Pages with the largest likely gain come first, with the searches behind each one as evidence.

Suggest better titles and meta descriptions

Some pages appear in Google often but draw fewer clicks than their position should earn. By default, your agents pick pages with at least 100 impressions from searches other than your brand name, a position of 20 or better, and a click-through rate below three quarters of the expected rate for that position. They suggest new titles and meta descriptions for up to five pages a week. Once you apply, reject or undo a change, that page rests for 28 days before its next suggestion.

Every rewrite passes checks before you see it. Suggestions aim for 60 characters in titles and 155 in descriptions, and the editor warns you when an edit runs longer. Each claim must be backed by text already on the page, and words on your banned list stay out.

Choose topics worth writing about

Your agents pick article topics from the searches that already show your store. They judge an article's results 28 days after it goes live, using Search Console clicks and impressions.

Plus and Pro

On Plus, suggested titles and meta descriptions appear in your dashboard. You copy them into your store and mark each one applied.

On Pro, the changes you approve are published to your store, and each one can be undone from the Change Log. Nothing is published before you approve it.

A worked example

This example uses a sample store and sample figures.

Example Jewellery Store's hoops collection gets 2,400 impressions a month for "lightweight hoop earrings" at an average position of 9, but few clicks. Your agents flag the page as close to page one and suggest a title that leads with the weight customers ask about. The owner approves it. Once 28 days have passed and Google's figures have settled, you can compare the page's clicks and position before and after the change.

How to connect Search Console

  1. Start a Plus plan, or the 30-day Plus trial.
  2. Sign in with the Google account that can see your Search Console property. One sign-in covers Search Console, Google Analytics and Merchant Center.
  3. Choose your property. When you have a domain property for your store, it is selected for you.
  4. Save your choice, and the first sync starts straight away.

On Managed, we connect your accounts for you. The free dashboard shows your search opportunities from public search data, and you can connect Search Console when you upgrade.

Search Console data inside Claude or ChatGPT

On Plus, Pro and Managed, the EntireCommerce MCP lets you ask about your search data inside Claude or ChatGPT. For example: which searches lost clicks this month, and which pages they lead to. The answers come from your dashboard.

Permissions and your data

EntireCommerce asks Google for read-only access to Search Console. Your agents read search figures and sitemap status. They never submit sitemaps, request indexing or change any setting in Search Console.

To disconnect, email us and we revoke the access at Google and delete the stored sign-in. You can also remove access yourself from your Google account settings. The data already collected stays in your workspace until you ask us to delete it. A workspace nobody signs in to for 12 months is deleted.
